Intended acquisition of shares
Family-owned dairy companies Olympia and Royal A-ware are to enter into a far-reaching collaboration, with Royal A-ware taking over Olympia's shares. Olympia will become part of the Royal A-ware group. The families behind the dairy companies have reached an agreement on this and submitted their intention to the Belgian Competition Authority (BMA) for approval. Existing agreements and conditions for Olympia employees and suppliers will of course be respected.
'There are strong similarities in the history and philosophy of both companies. Royal A-ware is, therefore, the perfect party for us. This step creates a strong financial basis that ensures stability and guarantees the continuity of Olympia. Together with the Huygh family and my brother Marc, I am convinced that this is the best choice for our employees, our suppliers, and our customers,' says Luc Van Impe, Executive Director of Olympia.
For Royal A-ware, the collaboration with Olympia complements its existing activities in Belgium and creates a strong basis for further growth. Jan Anker, CEO of Royal A-ware: 'The dairy products that Olympia produces in Herfelingen have always been well-known in Belgium and are renowned for their good quality. In its more than 100 years of existence, the family business of the Van Impe family has become a household name in the Belgian dairy industry. Thanks to the Huygh family's investment program, Olympia has been greatly modernized in recent years and is ready for further growth. We are therefore delighted that Luc and Marc Van Impe and Kris Huygh will continue to be linked to Olympia with their expertise.
